Notable suggestions on slavery today.

Again we can turn to the wisdom of Abraham Lincoln to muse on the devices of slavery.

" We must free the slaves or be ourselves subdued." Abraham Lincoln

Its an in-depth statement that poses the question of the future for the free person that takes no action to free the enslaved person. If we indeed stand fast on the principle that 'we can do nothing to stop such a great problem so the effort isn't worth the doing', then in time we too will see and be directly affected by slavery.

It may not come to each of us individually in a personal way but, in time each of us will know someone intimately that will suffer from slavery. Our very families will feel the blow of a person that has been forced into a life of trafficking and slavery. Exploitation will await us all if we do nothing today to slow its progress.

The commercial sexual exploitation of women and girls is like a little yeast in the dough. The longer it sits the greater it rises, eventually corrupting the entire mix. This crime against the dignity of our daughters is sin and sin if not checked with spread.

Edmund Burke once said "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

The questions today that we must ask ourselves are; if I do nothing will the exploitation of women go away on its own, and if I ignore the problem will I manage to escape its results in my own life?

Think about it then do something about it.
